Dr. Sally Moe
Costco Pharmacy Manager
2154 West Flagler Street
Miami, FL 33144
Dear Dr. Doe/Dr. Moe:
I am writing to you to express my desire and interest in the position of a pharmacy doctor. I am committed and determined to serve the company, grow with it, and play a role in the achievement of its objectives. I believe that I am the best candidate for this position because I have great experience and academic qualifications. I am interested in changing from a pharmacist hospital environment to retail to achieve direct contact with the public, something that is not possible as a hospital pharmacist.
I am an exact match to your requirements since I acquired a doctor of pharmacy from the College of Pharmacy and Associates in Art from the Miami Dade College. Besides, I have worked been working as a pharmacy doctor since September 2019 at the Baptist Health South Florida and another 17 years as a certified nuclear medicine technology. During this period, I have gained beneficial knowledge and skills that have boosted my ability to resolve conflict, interact positively with others, and serve the diverse needs of customers.
My opportunity to work as a pharmacy doctor at the Baptist Health South Florida, Miami FL improved my skills in a great way. I was involved with medication order review, preparation, documentation, dispensing, medication reconciliation, and patient counseling. The role improved my ability to multitask and make every effort to improve the patient outcome. I was involved with Verify Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) orders to ensure appropriateness and accuracy. In case of any issue, I intervened to correct possible mistakes and make the necessary changes to improve the patient outcome. Since it is not possible to achieve the quality outcome without working closely with others, I collaborated with pharmacists, nurses, physicians, and patients. Working as a team enabled us to achieve desirable results and overcome every issue that emerged. Collaboration ensured the delivery of effective, safe, and fiscally responsible patient-centered care.
As a pharmacy doctor, I have been providing therapeutic assessment and selected disease management, improving patient care, and practice outcome. I have always been ensuring that I offer individualized services to my patients to meet their expectations and improve their experience. During this period, I have been valuing the interest of patients in ensuring that I pay the necessary attention to their needs. I have also been monitoring medication therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, drug-laboratory test interactions, allergies, appropriateness of drug and dose, indications, and therapeutic duplications. The exposure has improved my management skills enabling me to gain desirable skills to work in a dynamic environment.
My 17 years of service as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in areas of customer service, conflict resolution, and interaction with the public significantly improved my skills and potential. I was involved in the administration and compounding of sterile radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with USP standards for treatment and diagnostic purposes. The opportunity improved my knowledge and understanding of warnings, contraindications, drug interactions, and indications. I was also involved with the verification of patient identification and collection of patient history, symptoms, warnings, and drug interaction. I considered the appropriateness of patient examination depending on symptoms and indications. Besides, I worked closely with physicians by providing them with data, images, and other relevant information to support the diagnostic interpretation.
My great experience, academic background, and effective communication skills make a useful and uniquely qualified candidate for a pharmacy doctor position. I would highly appreciate an opportunity to meet you and discuss how I fit in the position and the value I can bring to your organization. Thank you for your precious time and I am looking forward to hearing from you.
